Sun and showers, waving flowers,
Primroses ‘neath woodland
trees,
Tiny violets in the hedgerows
Fragrant scent upon the breeze,
Easter bunnies in each High Street
Easter Eggs all over town.
Fun and games with hard egg rolling
Ancient customs such as these,
Easter-bonnets – large and floral,
And parades, where breezes
tease!
Pause awhile, is there a reason,
Why we celebrate this Day?
Just look back, and see a donkey,
Treading palms beneath his feet.
Find the silence of Good Friday,
Before the bells of Easter Day.
Go with Mary, go with Peter,
Run with John, THE STONES AWRY:
Sing with Angels, Halleluia,
Rejoice, the Lord is here to stay.
Thank you to Doreen Cooper for this lovely
Easter poem.
