Some of our
readers may be aware that Tony and Elizabeth were fortunate to
have travelled in Japan for a couple of weeks in April. It was
busy, we changed hotels frequently as we went from city to city,
by air, boat, coach and – yes! – the Bullet
train. At every hotel in the bedside table was a copy of the Gideons’ New
Testament in English and Japanese, alongside a copy of “The
Teaching of Buddha” (again in both languages). I was able
to buy one to bring home and it makes very interesting reading.
Nonetheless I still call myself an “unorthodox Methodist”.
