The Hospice of St. Francis

Revised: 2-may-08

The 2008 Easter Offering envelope collection raised £98, to which is added £21.28 Gift Aid tax refund. The dedication service on Thursday 24 th April was attended by approximately fifty ladies from Watford Circuit groups. This year the Carpenders Park and South Oxhey Church was the venue, and the service and tea which followed was as good as ever. The Revd Margaret Millar gave the address, Edna Brown was the Leader assisted by Mary Beckett. Leslie Beckett played the organ for us. The ladies of the church were thanked for their efforts to make a successful meeting.

Network fundraising efforts from our church up to August 2007 reached a total of £268. This was sent to the Methodist Relief and Development Fund (MRDF). The Easter Offering is our best event, followed by the Mission Fair. Thank you to Chris Nash for organizing that, a great help in enabling Network to run special projects for overseas aid, and also to give grants to doctors, nurses and teachers working in outreach. Details of all these activities are outlined in Magnet Magazine, which gives wonderful stories and pictures of what is happening nowadays.
